Dr. Gunsch's research team has access to all shared facilities in the environmental engineering group which includes a media preparation room, a constant temperature environmental chamber, a microbial culturing room, a clean room for molecular biological experimentation. In addition, Dr. Gunsch has a personal lab where students/research associates can build and run lab scale experiments.

Autoclave, Numerous chemical fume hoods (double sash and single sash), Class II biosafety hoods, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, 96-well plate reader, Freeze dryer, Electroporator, Shakers, Incubators, PCR Machine, Real-time PCR Machine, Hybridization Oven, Drying Oven, High Pressure Liquid Chromatographer, Gas Chromatographer (FID), Gas Chromoatgrapher-Mass Spectrometer, High Speed Refrigerated Centrifuge, Gel Imaging Station, DGGE System, Microscope with epifluorescent capabilities and digital camera system for micscopic image acquisition.
In addition, Dr. Gunsch's research group has access to campus wide core facilities which include:
Light microscopy, Scanning elecron microscopy, Transmission electron microscopy, Stable Isotope Laboratory, DNA synthesis and sequencing, Peptide synthesis, Microarray, Cell culturing and large-scale fermentation, Flow cytometry, Macromolecular structure determination and graphics, Greenhouse
