Billy Gerhard received the Graduate Student Training Enhancement Grant from Duke Interdisciplinary Studies. This award will cover expenses for his upcoming internship with the Danish Hydraulic Institute in Singapore. During the internship, his proposed work involves laboratory robustness validation of microorganisms used in ballast water testing at the Singapore facility. In addition, he will work with the modeling department of DHI to better understand possible applications of their software to his dissertation research. Learn more about GSTEG here.
