Engineer at Geosyntec
Savannah was a PhD Candidate in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department and the Integrated Toxicology and Environmental Health Program. She was also a trainee in Project 5 of the Duke Superfund Research Center. Savannah's dissertation research focused on using fungal & bacterial biofilms for the degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in sediment. She successfully defended her thesis titled "Engineering a Biofilm for the Biodegradation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Estuarine Sediment" in June. She has now begun work as a Senior Staff Professional at Geosyntec in Raleigh, NC.
